Hotshot freight on tight timing
Hotshot loads depend on accurate pickup, delivery, and freight details. We review what you send before we discuss availability or pricing.
All freight servicesUrgency still needs clear freight information
Incomplete dimensions, vague addresses, or missing appointment rules slow review when the calendar is tight. Many hotshot shipments run on smaller open-deck equipment, so loading and securement can matter even when the load is time-sensitive. Requirements depend on your freight, not a one-size checklist. We read what you send, ask follow-up questions when we need them, and discuss options with you directly.
Coordinate pickup and delivery
Pickup
- Full pickup address and contact on site
- Required pickup date and time window
- Loading method and facility access notes
- Whether freight is ready when the driver arrives
Delivery
- Full delivery address and receiving contact
- Required delivery date and appointment rules
- Unloading constraints or after-hours limits
- Gate codes, directions, or dock instructions
Confirming these details during review does not guarantee a truck until we and the shipper agree on coverage.
Loading and access to mention early
Include how freight gets on and off the trailer when you request a quote. Ground pickup, no-dock locations, and tight site access should be noted in the lane details.
Side or ground loading
Note dock access, forklift availability, or ground pickup when there is no loading bay.
Top or crane set
Say if freight is loaded from above or set with a crane so we know what to confirm with the carrier.
Appointment timing
Hotshot often runs on tight windows. Share required in/out times at pickup and delivery.
Securement and handling when open-deck applies
Hotshot freight often travels on open-deck equipment. When your load needs covers, tie-downs, or blocking, tell us up front so we can review the shipment accurately. Not every hotshot move requires every item below.
- Tarps and cover requirements
- Chains, binders, and securement expectations
- Dunnage or blocking
- Loading method and access at each stop
- Equipment dimensions and weight
- Pickup and delivery requirements
- Special handling tied to your freight
Add commodity description, dimensions, weight, and target dates in your quote request. Use special instructions for anything unique to your lane or facility.
What to send with a hotshot inquiry
Dimensions and weight
Length, width, height, and total weight help us see if hotshot equipment fits the load.
Commodity description
Describe what is moving and how it is packaged. Not every hotshot load needs tarps or chains, but tell us if yours might.
Target dates
Share the dates you are working toward. We confirm timing after we review the inquiry.
Loading and unloading
Note forklift needs, liftgate questions, ground loading, or restrictions at either end.
Securement when it applies
Many hotshot moves use open-deck equipment similar to flatbed. Mention tarps, chains, binders, dunnage, or blocking if your shipment may need them.
Starting a hotshot inquiry
